Let's talk obesity and Body Positivity!

I know one of life’s biggest challenges is learning to love the skin you're in. Being able to look in the mirror and loving the gift of aging and finding beauty in changes to your body. I initially loved the body positivity movement, and I still believe in what the movement is defined as. The movement is defined as a social movement that promotes a positive view of all bodies, regardless of size, shape, skin tone, gender, and physical abilities. But unfortunately, they took this movement and used it as a platform to say you can be obese and still healthy.  And that is simply not true. Confidence

Confidence. It can feel like climbing a mountain. Your climbing slowly at first, perfecting your footwork and hand grasp. You start going a little faster as you get more sure of yourself and then.... you slip. Fear takes over. Maybe you can't climb to the top. Maybe your not a good enough climber. That's how confidence works. You are going to have times you struggle, times people tell you are not good enough, times you fail, times you just want to give up. So do you stay on the ground and never try again. Or do you keep trying until you get to the top. But even when you get to the top. It won't all be perfect. There will always be more mountains to climb. But you do get better at climbing the more you do it! Same with confidence. Now I won't say fake it till you make it. But I would say work for it and it will get easier to have.

Sometimes driving to the gym can seem like just one more thing on your already long to-do list. But when you have those dumbbells staring at you from across the room, it can be harder to ignore your workout and quicker to accomplish it. It’s also hard to ignore your trainer who can see if you completed your assigned workout and tasks on the Everfit app.
