Hey Everyone! My name is Courtney Lynn Olavarria. That is where the "CLO" of CLO Coaching and Training comes from, it is my initials. I am a registered nurse of 17 years, health coach, personal trainer, wife, mom, friend, Christian. Maybe not in that order, but I wear a lot of hats just as I am sure you do too. My wellness journey started with heartbreak and the numbers on the scale continuously going up. I was unable to get pregnant, so my husband and I decided to do fertility treatments. Fertility treatments are grueling, and I gained a lot of weight on them. On the last round, I got an infection that spread throughout my body and was shutting down my organs one by one. After 17 days in the hospital and multiple procedures/surgeries, I left the hospital with my dream of ever having a baby gone. But looking at me, I looked pregnant, all the weight I had gained was in my stomach. I gained 75 pounds total. Nothing is more heartbreaking than other moms looking at your stomach and smiling thinking they know your secret when the truth was painful. I had multiple surgeries to heal from, was depressed and spent my 3-month recovery eating my feelings and making the numbers on the scale continue to increase. I knew I never wanted to feel that weak, scared or hopeless as I did those days I laid in the hospital. I set out to lose the weight and be the strongest I had ever been mentally and physically. I hired so many personal trainers, tried every fad diet, every latest workout and all the supplements. I would lose weight, gain some back, lose it and the yo-yo dieting disaster hit me. I knew there had to be a better way. I went and got certified as a personal trainer, Pilates instructor and then a Health coach. I used evidence-based science to create a nutrition plan, mental wellness plan and fitness regimen for myself. It took a full two years to get all the weight off, but I have never gained it back. I never gained it back because I made lifestyle changes that were and still are sustainable!! That is what I do for my clients. I do not have a magic wand, it is going to take time, it is going to take hard work. You can do hard things, especially when you have me supporting, guiding and motivating you on your journey.
My tagline is, "It's not going to lift itself!" Thats applies to your booty, those dumbbells and your mood. You are going to have to get your steps in, lift weights and practice mental wellness to reach your goals!
